Welcome to Kinderopvang Ikke – location De Dennen, housed in a charming, renovated farmhouse at Dennenstraat 71 in Nijmegen. We provide daycare exclusively for children aged 0 to 4 and work with horizontal age groups, so your child always plays, sleeps and develops with peers of the same age. Our location offers 52 places divided into three clearly defined groups: a baby/toddler group (0-2 years, max. 16 children of whom max. 8 babies), a toddler group (2-3.5 years, max. 16 children) and a toddler-plus group (3.5-4 years, max. 8 children). Each group has its own safe indoor and outdoor space that meets all legal requirements. The spacious garden surrounding the farmhouse invites children to explore, play with sand and water, cycle and move. We follow the Reggio Emilia approach: children are competent researchers to whom we offer space, time and materials to shape their own learning and development journey. Our pedagogical staff observe, document and enrich this process with targeted activities such as painting, singing, reading aloud and language games. Every day follows a fixed rhythm of play, meals, sleep and outdoor time, always centred on your child’s natural needs. For the very youngest we provide bottle feeding on request, fresh fruit and healthy snacks, and keep a personal sleep and changing schedule. Toddlers eat together at the table, learn to eat independently and receive a simple, warm lunch if desired. We always align meals and sleep times with home routines so your child feels safe and recognised. Parents stay informed through the parent portal KidsKonnect with photos, daily reports and news. Our parent committee actively contributes to policy, activities and improvements.
