Welcome to Zien BSO de Blokhut – Sylvius, located at Sylviuslaan 2 in Groningen. Our location is beautifully situated next to the Piccardtshofplas and offers a spacious, safe environment where children aged 4 to 12 can play, explore, and grow. We are part of Kinderopvang Zien, an organization that puts children at the center and operates from a place of wonder, respect, and trust. At de Blokhut, we work with three age groups: 4–6 years, 6–8 years, and 9–12 years. Every day, we offer age-appropriate and challenging activities both indoors and in our large outdoor area. Children can choose whether to join a workshop or simply enjoy free play. We run 4-week workshops from our sports studio, creative studio, and nature club. These include sports and games, dance, art, nature exploration, and creative projects. Our pedagogical staff come from diverse backgrounds — from gym teachers and artists to outdoor specialists and dance instructors — allowing us to offer a broad and varied program. We pick up children from OBS Ter Borch, De Boerhaaveschool, and CBS de Rietzanger. During school weeks, we offer before-school care from 7:00 AM and after-school care until 6:30 PM. During holidays and study days, we provide full-day care from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. We are open 52 weeks a year, with the exception of a few public holidays. Our location is richly equipped with natural materials, studios, and discovery gardens. We believe in learning through wonder and give children the space to explore, move, and create. Our location manager Krista ensures a warm, committed team and an atmosphere where both children and parents feel at home. At Zien BSO de Blokhut, every day is a little celebration.
