Welcome to Partou de Tovervis, our daycare centre located at De Frisia 150A in Drachten. In a quiet part of town we offer children from 0 to 4 years a safe, warm place where they feel at home. Our spacious, adventurous natural garden invites discovery: winding paths, hiding spots and green surprises await every little explorer. When the wind picks up we make kites together and watch them soar high into the sky. Inside you will find a homely atmosphere with plenty of play corners, so no two days are ever the same. We run two vertical groups and one horizontal group with a maximum of 16 children. This gives every child both space and personal attention. Our pedagogical staff speak Dutch and Frisian; on the multilingual group Frisian is spoken all day unless parents prefer Dutch. We align our approach with what your child is used to at home – we call this our pedagogical partnership. During an extensive intake we listen to all your wishes and explain how the settling-in period works. Every day we provide fresh, healthy meals including bread meals, fruit and snacks. For the youngest we arrange bottle feeding and nappy changes; all care products are ready. Each child has their own basket for personal belongings and a quiet sleeping spot in a separate bedroom. Our garden is securely fenced and only accessible through an entry-control system. Development is important to us. We offer pre-school education (VVE) so that children playfully work on language, numeracy and social skills. Children aged three and up enjoy extra activities such as toddler dance and toddler yoga in our central play hall. We also make regular trips: we post a letter, take a walk through the park or visit the supermarket to collect ingredients for a cooking activity. Everything is carefully prepared following our ‘activities outside the location’ protocol. Twice a year we organise ten-minute parent meetings and every year we host a cheerful summer party.
