Welcome to Kinderopvang ’t Herdertje location Sint Jozef in Blokker. At this location we provide care for children aged 2 to 4 years in our Spelenderwijs group. This group is located within the Integral Child Center (IKC) St. Jozef at Westerblokker 77, ensuring a seamless connection with the primary school. Our pedagogical staff create a safe and familiar environment where children can develop through play. We work with a clear daily structure that provides peace and regularity. The morning starts with a joint welcome moment, followed by free playtime where children can choose from various development corners. There is a reading corner with picture books, a construction corner with Duplo and blocks, a home corner with dolls and play kitchens, and a creative corner for crafts and drawing. Outside we have a spacious, green playground where children can run, climb, cycle and discover nature. Language development is a high priority for us. We read picture books daily and sing songs that expand vocabulary. We encourage children to tell their story and listen attentively to what they have to say. In addition, we provide pre-school education (VVE) according to the 'Kaleidoscope' program. This program focuses on all areas of development: language, mathematics, motor skills and social-emotional development. Through play, children learn new skills, with fun and curiosity at the center. Creative expression is important to us. Children are given space to experiment with different materials such as paint, clay, markers and paper. There is no right or wrong; it's about the process and the experience. We regularly organize theme activities that connect to the children's world of experience, such as seasons, animals or transportation. During these activities we combine crafts, singing, dancing and movement. The development of independence is central. Children learn to put on their own coat, shoes and help with tidying up. We believe it is important that children try things themselves and experience that they can do it. This strengthens their self-confidence and self-reliance. Our pedagogical staff guide this process with patience and encourage children to try new things. Parents are actively involved in their child's development. We work with a parent committee and regularly organize parent evenings and festive moments. There is plenty of room for consultation and coordination. Together we ensure that every child can develop optimally in a familiar and challenging environment.
