Welcome to Kinderopvang ’t Boeren Olifantje, a small-scale daycare center located in a rural setting at Vaartweg 76a in Smilde. We provide care for up to 15 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our mission is to create a warm, home-like environment where children feel safe and secure. We believe in the value of small-scale care, peace, and space, ensuring every child receives the attention they deserve. At our center, everything revolves around play, discovery, and growing up in a natural environment. What makes us unique is that we keep animals on site: chickens and goats are part of the children’s daily experience. Children learn to respect animals and nature in a playful way. We also offer creative and physical activities tailored to the world of young children, such as crafting, outdoor play, singing, and movement. We follow a consistent daily routine that provides structure and calm, while also allowing for individual needs. There is a separate sleeping area for the youngest children, and we use horizontal grouping, meaning children are cared for in age-based groups. Parents can choose between full-day or half-day care.
