Kinderopvang Ommerkanaal

Welcome to After-School Care Kinderopvang Ommerkanaal, located at Ommerkanaal West 22 in the rural area between Dedemsvaart and Ommen. Our after-school programme is designed for children aged 4 to 13, offering a safe, homely place to play, experience and grow once the school day ends. We run a single mixed-age group in a bright, modern space that is part of the local community centre. Nine enthusiastic pedagogical staff members provide personal attention and arrange pick-up and drop-off by car from primary schools in Ommen and Dedemsvaart. Outdoors, children enjoy a natural playground with vegetable garden and a large sports field with football pitch and climbing equipment. Together with the municipality we are developing an additional exercise park especially for our after-school children. Nature education is woven into daily life through gardening and exploring the surrounding countryside. Our flexible daily schedule starts with a shared snack, followed by free choice between quiet corners, creative activities or sports. Guided by the key words PLAY, EXPERIENCE & GROW, we tailor activities to the children’s interests, regularly using the community hall for toddler gym and organising sports games on our own field. At Kinderopvang Ommerkanaal, children find a small-scale, familiar environment where they can simply be themselves after school.
