Kinderopvang Nieuwoord

Peuteropvang Nieuwoord is part of HumanKind and is located in a unique spot: right inside Basisschool Nieuwoord at Klimop 1 in the centre of Vroomshoop. We provide care for up to 16 toddlers each day in a cosy, homely classroom. The space is playfully arranged with different corners where children can explore, play and learn at their own pace. We follow a clear daily rhythm built on structure and regularity, so every child feels safe and secure. Our pedagogical staff – Corine, Erica, Lisanne and Roy – welcome the children every morning. They guide the toddlers with warmth and attention in their development. We use the recognised Early Childhood Education programme ‘Startblokken’. Through six-week themes, children playfully learn about the world around them. Language, numeracy, motor skills and social abilities are covered in a playful way. Each day includes creative activities such as drawing, crafting and singing. We read picture books aloud and stimulate language development by talking a lot and naming what we see and do. Outdoor play is a fixed part of our day. We use the large, green schoolyard of Basisschool Nieuwoord. Here children can run, cycle, build sandcastles and play together. The outdoor area offers plenty of challenge and stimulates motor development. When the weather is nice we eat outside and use the picnic tables. We provide a healthy fruit and drinks corner: fresh fruit and water or tea are always available. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account. We value parental involvement highly. We actively discuss each child’s development with parents. Parent meetings are available and we regularly organise parent mornings. Together we ensure every child feels welcome and is free to be who he or she is. Peuteropvang Nieuwoord is for children aged 2 to 4. We offer care on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. We are closed during school holidays.
