Kinderopvang Middelpunt

Kinderopvang Middelpunt is located inside I.K.C. Middelstein in the friendly village of Midlum, Friesland. We provide day-care for children aged 0–4 in a homely, secure setting where every child is seen and valued. Our guiding principle is “developmental growth through successful experiences”: we challenge children at their own level and let them taste success every day. Our vertical baby-toddler group is laid out with a cosy baby corner, separate bedroom and a spacious play/living area. Fixed daily routines leave room for rest, feeding, play and development. Our qualified staff follow each child’s cues closely; bottle-feeding, nappy changes and cuddles happen exactly when your baby needs them. For toddlers we organise theme-based activities every morning and afternoon—think singing with Uk & Puk, story time in the home corner, finger painting, or exploring our nature garden. Pre-school education (VVE) is fully embedded in our programme. We use the Uk & Puk method to stimulate language, numeracy, social and motor skills through play. Twice a week our movement coach drops by for a music-and-movement session; children practise balance and co-ordination to music and proudly receive a movement diploma at the end of the year. Music is a daily ingredient: we sing, use simple instruments and listen to a variety of styles. Our outdoor area is safely fenced and offers plenty of room to romp, build sandcastles, ride bikes and do some gardening. In fine weather the youngest ones nap outside in the fresh air; indoors we have separate bedrooms with cots and cradles. Everything is included: nappies, wipes, bottles, warm meals and healthy snacks. If your child has an allergy or special diet we are happy to discuss how best to accommodate it. Because we are situated within the Integrated Child Centre, children from the age of 3 already pop into the Year 1-2 classroom now and then. This playful contact with school life makes the eventual transition to primary school smooth and stress-free.
