Kinderopvang Ikke - BSO Het Bos

Welcome to BSO Het Bos, part of Kinderopvang Ikke, located in the characteristic Sancta Maria monastery at Bredestraat 174 in the heart of Nijmegen. We provide after-school care for up to 35 children aged 4 to 12 years. The location is distinguished by its spacious, green play area surrounding the monastery where children have plenty of space to play, discover and move. Our pedagogical team works according to the Reggio Emilia philosophy. We see children as competent researchers who explore the world around them with curiosity and creativity. The pedagogical staff provide challenging activities that connect with children's experiences and stimulate their development. We work in age groups ensuring a safe and familiar environment. The location offers large play areas both indoors and outdoors. Children can express themselves in the natural play environment around the monastery, where they can build, romp and discover. We pay great attention to outdoor activities and nature experience. Children learn about the natural environment through play while developing their motor skills. BSO Het Bos collaborates with primary schools in the immediate vicinity. We pick up children from school and provide them with a familiar place where they can unwind after an intensive school day. We offer homework assistance and organize fun activities that match children's interests. During school holidays we are open from 8:00 AM and offer a varied program with outings and special activities. Parents are important partners in upbringing for us. We maintain daily personal contact when bringing and picking up children. This way parents know exactly how their child experienced the day. We find it important that children feel safe and at home with us, so that parents can entrust their child to us with peace of mind.
