Welcome to Kinderopvang IKC Donatushof, located at Flierenhofstraat 34 in the heart of Bemmel. As part of Stichting De Linge, we have been offering a warm, safe and stimulating environment for children from ten weeks to four years of age for more than 25 years. Our day-care section – known as ‘Het Olifantenbos’ – is designed especially for the very youngest and is based on the conviction that every child is unique and develops at his or her own pace. We follow the Jenaplan philosophy: children are placed in vertically grouped ‘family’ units, experiencing what it means to be the youngest first and later the oldest in the group. This structure promotes co-operation, caring attitudes and self-confidence. Our professional staff create a homely atmosphere with predictable daily rhythms that provide security and comfort. There is plenty of room for free play, but also for focused activities such as story-telling, singing, arts & crafts and exploring our nature garden. From the age of two, children join our pre-school group ‘Het Olifantenbos’, where language, numeracy and social skills are developed through thematic play-based learning. Our site offers a spacious, green outdoor play area with a sandpit, water- and sensory trail and a vegetable garden where children grow their own vegetables and herbs. Indoors there are separate sleeping rooms with cots and beds, a toddler gym for movement activities and a studio for creative development. We serve organic, varied meals, taking allergies and dietary requirements into account. At mealtimes children sit in small groups at the table with their regular carer, strengthening the bond and turning the meal into a calm, social moment. Parents are not outsiders here: we work closely together through the Parro app for daily messages and photos, parent consultations and parent participation in excursions and celebrations. In short, at Kinderopvang IKC Donatushof children grow up in a close-knit community where they feel safe, seen and challenged.
