Kinderopvang Heyendael

Kinderopvang Heyendael is located on the campus of Radboud University Nijmegen, right next to Park Brakkenstein and the Hortus. We offer a safe, colourful place for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 4 years. Our large gardens, the adjacent park and the forest together form a natural play world where children can move and explore freely. We work closely with Radboud University, the Baby & Child Research Center and the Max Planck Institute. This collaboration ensures that our pedagogical approach is continuously tested against current scientific insights. Our pedagogical professionals closely follow each child's development and provide activities that match their age and interests. Think of reading aloud, singing, crafts, but also sensory activities and games that stimulate the very youngest. Inside we have bright, spacious group rooms furnished with natural materials and plenty of corners to retreat. Each group has its own sleeping area where children can rest in peace. For the very youngest we have a special baby policy: there is plenty of room for bottle feeding, cuddles and quiet moments, just like at home. Our outdoor space is special: a large garden with fruit trees, a vegetable garden and a private gate to Park Brakkenstein. We regularly take walks to the park or the forest, where children get to know animals, plants and the seasons. These nature experiences contribute to their general development and give them space to take risks in a safe environment. Flexibility is high on our priority list. We understand that parents from the university or Radboudumc have varying working hours. Therefore we offer childcare from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and it is possible to come on varying days. Employees of Radboud University and Radboudumc also receive priority in placement. At Kinderopvang Heyendael we find it important that children feel seen and heard. We offer a warm, homely atmosphere in which fun, development and connection are central. Together with parents we ensure that every child gets the best start.
