Kinderopvang Het Vrolijke Koetje

Kinderopvang Het Vrolijke Koetje at Empelsehoefweg 7 in Rosmalen provides after-school care (BSO) for 44 children aged 4 up to 12/13 years. Our setting is a working dairy farm in the middle of the polder, surrounded by green meadows and grazing cows. Children experience the calm and space of the countryside every day, just minutes from the De Groote Wielen residential area and the villages of Empel, Rosmalen, Kruisstraat and Maren-Kessel. Our staff, trained in agricultural green pedagogy, guide the children in small vertical groups. After school the children can head straight out to the yard: feed the animals, help in the vegetable garden or pick flowers, and of course romp around in our certified natural playground with hills, water features and climbing equipment. From the outdoor area they look directly into the barn where milking robots milk the cows. In bad weather they play under cover outside or in the modern indoor spaces with over 4.5 m² per child. We follow the VAK formula (United Agricultural Childcare). This means we follow the child, spend lots of time outdoors and use nature and animals to support healthy emotional, mental and physical development. Every day the same pedagogical staff are on the group so each child experiences familiarity and security. We believe it is important that after a busy school day children can completely unwind while also learning new skills in a safe, homely environment.
