Kinderopvang Happy Feet

Welcome to Kinderopvang Happy Feet, located at Miquelstraat 50 in The Hague. Founded in 2009 by Lisa Meppelink, Daisy Stoppelenburg and Michelle Knegt—three certified pedagogical professionals—our small-scale daycare offers a home-like atmosphere where every child feels safe and valued. We deliberately do not follow a standard Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme; instead, we honour each child’s individual pace and needs. Our motto captures this approach perfectly: “Just that little bit more… or less!” The centre operates two horizontal groups—one for babies and toddlers, one for toddlers and pre-schoolers—with a maximum of 32 children in total. Staff-child ratios are strictly observed to ensure personal attention at all times. The daily rhythm begins with free play, followed by a communal breakfast, songs, stories and a themed activity such as arts & crafts, clay work or painting. At 11:15 a freshly prepared hot lunch is served; special diets and allergies are accommodated with an alternative meal. After lunch the children are changed into pyjamas and settled into individual cots in dedicated sleep rooms using their own sleeping bags. While the little ones nap, early risers enjoy quiet activities with a staff member. Hydration and healthy snacks—water, tea, fruit purée, cucumber or crackers—are offered throughout the day. The afternoon closes with a light snack and a brief verbal report to parents at pick-up. Our all-inclusive hourly rate covers nappies, wipes, hot meals, fruit, drinks and care products. Opening hours are 06:30–18:00, and both full-day and half-day care are available. We warmly invite prospective parents to schedule a personal tour and see how we make every child feel at home.
