Kinderopvang Fienelien

Welcome to Kinderopvang Fienelien at De Sillestraat 11 in The Hague’s Bezuidenhout district. We are a small-scale daycare centre that offers a safe second home to a maximum of 12 children aged 0-4 in one vertical group. Since 2019 we have been a trusted place where children and parents feel at ease. At Fienelien we live consciously natural. Your child enjoys a freshly prepared, organic hot lunch every day – think home-baked bread and homemade soup – and all care products we use are ecological as well. Nappies, wipes, formula and even expressed breast milk are fully taken care of by us. We also accommodate special diets and allergies; simply let us know what your child needs and we will provide a suitable alternative. Our pedagogical approach is rhythmic and inspired by anthroposophy. We follow fixed daily rhythms with plenty of variety: after a breath of fresh air in the nearby Haagse Bos or our own garden, we sing songs at the table and then dive into a creative activity such as painting or baking bread together. We encourage imaginative play with natural materials and guide children in small groups or one-on-one, giving every child space to develop at his or her own pace. Each toddler and baby is assigned a fixed mentor who is the contact person for parents and who closely monitors development through scheduled observation moments around the child’s birthday. We love being outdoors. We walk to the Haagse Bos to build huts, look for mushrooms or have a picnic. In our own green garden children can build sandcastles, move water or simply run around. When the weather allows, we also offer the option to sleep outside in a safe outdoor cot – a soothing experience many children enjoy.
