Welcome to Smallsteps Draaimolen, our daycare center located in the green Merenwijk district of Leiden. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely and safe environment where every child quickly feels at home. Our location at Milanenhorst 193 features a large, natural playground where children can play and explore to their heart's content every day. We believe in the power of outdoor play and teach children to interact with nature through play. Our pedagogical staff guide children in making friends, sharing toys, and resolving small conflicts – skills that are essential for their development. Inside, we offer various development-oriented activities. In our atelier, children can be creative with crafts and drawing. We read picture books daily to stimulate language development. Our experienced staff regularly provide music and sports activities tailored to the age and developmental stage of the children. For the youngest children, we have separate sleeping rooms where babies can sleep safely and peacefully. We use horizontal groups, where children come together in age groups. This provides peace and familiarity. Toddlers have their own space where they learn and play through play. We work with our own parent app that keeps parents informed of their child's development. Parents receive daily photos and updates about their child's experiences. We offer flexible childcare options, including half days, and have generous opening hours from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Our mission is to provide children with a warm second home where they feel safe and loved. We work according to the Smallsteps vision where fun, development, and safety are central. Together with parents, we ensure that every child can develop optimally in a familiar environment.
