Kindercentrum De Tuin van Meta is our small-scale anthroposophical childcare centre in the heart of rural Ruinerwold, Drenthe. We provide care for up to eight children aged 0–4 in a beautifully restored farmhouse at Dokter Larijweg 137. The intimate group size allows for personal attention and a homely atmosphere; children grow up in one vertical group where toddlers and babies play together, learn from and help one another. Our educational approach is rooted in anthroposophical insights: we regard every child as a unique individual developing at his or her own pace. The rooms are furnished with natural materials and open-ended toys that stimulate imagination—wooden blocks, silk dolls and sheep’s wool—leaving plenty of room for creativity. A consistent team of familiar educators welcomes and recognises your child each day, creating security and trust. Outdoors, children enjoy a safe garden where they can move freely, dig in the sand and experience the seasons. We emphasise rhythm and repetition: a predictable daily structure with fixed moments for play, meals, sleep and outdoor time. A separate sleep room with cots and cradles allows each child to follow an individual sleep rhythm. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 06:45–17:45.
