Welcome to Kinderopvang de Giraffe Westerhaar, our day-care centre located at Marijkestraat 10 in the heart of Westerhaar-Vriezenveensewijk. We provide care for up to 80 children aged 0 to 4 years. The former school building is surrounded by a spacious play meadow where children can run freely, build sandcastles, jump on the trampoline and enjoy various play equipment. Development through play is central to our approach. We work with horizontal groups, so babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers play and learn in age-based groups. Our toddler group (with and without Early Childhood Education indication) follows fixed days and times, giving children structure and familiarity. For parents looking for flexible care we offer both regular and flexible day slots, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Personal attention is very important to us. Our experienced pedagogical staff ensure that every child feels valued and safe. We provide Early Childhood Education (VVE), stimulating language, numeracy and social skills in a playful way. Outdoor play and nature experience are an integral part of our programme. During the day we provide bread meals, healthy snacks and drinks. For the youngest we take care of bottle feeding and nappy changes; parents can bring their own products or use our care items.
