Welcome to De Geheime Tuin in Zeist, an independent and small-scale day-care centre where children aged 0 to 4 find a safe, warm and homely environment. We work with four groups: two baby groups for children from 0 to 2 years and two toddler groups for children from 2 to 4 years. This horizontal structure provides calm and familiarity, ensuring every child receives the attention they deserve. Small scale is our priority. We cook and bake together with the children: bread, biscuits and seasonal treats are made by little hands. Our vegetable garden is a favourite spot; here the children get to know vegetables and herbs, sow, harvest and taste. We spend as much time outdoors as possible, because outdoor play is healthy and fun. Every year we celebrate the Sint Jan summer festival: wearing flower garlands, singing, dancing and playing games, we turn it into a joyful celebration together. All our food is fully organic. We follow eight golden eating rules in which nourishment, taste and enjoyment are central. We take allergies and special dietary needs into account. In homely sleeping rooms children can rest peacefully, and we use gentle care products for delicate skin. The garden is safely fenced and only accessible with a security code, so parents can leave their child with peace of mind. We are here for you and your child, five days a week, all year round. Together we ensure that your child develops into a happy and content person, from a place of freedom and security.
