Welcome to Kinderopvang De Bereboot, a warm and homely childcare centre right in the heart of Assen where your child will feel at home from day one. For more than 30 years – originally started as care for employees of what is now Adelante – we have been providing small-scale day care for children from 8 weeks to 4 years old. Our two locations, De Bereboot and Het Haventje, are both situated in Prins Hendrikstraat and work closely together. We deliberately choose vertical groups: your child stays in the same stable group with the same trusted pedagogical staff from arrival right up to the big step to primary school. This creates calm, security and the space to build deep friendships. Everything we do is development-oriented. We follow an accredited development-stimulation programme with themes that connect to the world of experience of young children. Think of creative tasks, dance and music, cooking and baking, role play and lots of outdoor activities. Every activity – from clay work and puzzles to singing and romping outside – is tailored to your child’s age and pace. We stimulate motor skills, language, social-emotional development and early numeracy in a playful, natural way. Our spacious, cosily furnished living rooms invite exploration and play. Outdoors we have several playgrounds and we gratefully make use of the nearby playground and the neighbourhood gardens. Rain or shine: every morning and afternoon we go outside, because being outdoors is part of our daily rhythm. Healthy, fresh food is just as self-evident. We serve a hot meal, fresh fruit and healthy snacks; eating and drinking together is both cosy and educational. Parents stay closely involved through our digital parent portal. Here you will find photos, reports, can request extra days or report absences and read all about your child’s experiences. Personal attention, small groups and a fixed team ensure that we really know every child. That is why our children go home every day with a big smile and full of stories.
