Kinderhuis de Fuut

Kinderhuis de Fuut is a warm, small-scale after-school care facility located at Jan van Riebeeckstraat 9 in Culemborg. We provide after-school care in nature for children from group 1 through 8. Both young children and adventurous group 8 students find a place with us where they can develop through outdoor play, discovery and imagination. Each afternoon starts with a shared moment in our space at school. Afterwards, depending on the weather, we go outside as much as possible. We work with small groups of up to 9 or 10 children, allowing for lots of personal attention. Our child-to-staff ratio is 1:9 for 4- and 5-year-olds, 1:10 for 5- and 6-year-olds and 1:10 from age 7. This is more favorable than legally required, so we can really offer time and space to each child. Our offer varies every afternoon: sports & games, creative activities and nature education alternate. We believe outdoor play has a positive influence on motor and physical development. Nature experience also promotes creativity, independent thinking, making connections and language development. Through play, children also learn to take responsibility for nature and the environment. Our team consists of enthusiastic, motivated and highly trained supervisors. In addition to a pedagogical or educational background, they also have their own specialization, such as art, theater, nature, sports or play. This allows us to better guide children in their interests and talents. We work closely with primary school Blink, with whom our mission and vision align well. Children are first picked up at school in our own space and then go out into nature. This ensures a smooth transition from school to after-school care and gives children peace and recognition.
