Kindergarden Zeist Hortensialaan

Welcome to Kindergarden Hortensialaan, our cozy and bright daycare centre located in the heart of Zeist. Housed in a former convent and municipal monument, we have transformed this special building into a warm, relaxed place where children and parents immediately feel at home. Everything is on one level and we have a spacious communal hall with high ceilings where we organise various activities. Children from 2 months to 4 years have all the space they need to grow and develop. We work with horizontal groups: two baby groups (0-2.5 years), a toddler group (1-3 years), a preschool group (2-4 years) and a preschool+ group (3+ years) that provides extra preparation for primary school. Each group has its own space, but we often come together in the hall. Our pedagogical staff give lots of personal attention. We challenge the little ones in our black-and-white corner, specially designed because young babies see this contrast best. We sing and make music with all children, as music helps with making contact and building trust. Our toddlers and preschoolers have gym every Thursday, playfully developing their motor skills. We also cook regularly with the children; our housekeeper gives cooking lessons where children learn to cut, knead and work together. Outside we have a newly designed garden with a baby garden where the youngest can safely enjoy fresh air. There is a cycling track, a willow tunnel to hide in and a vegetable garden where children get to know nature. We believe outdoor play is healthy and that children learn and discover differently outside. We provide diapers and wipes from Pampers and Naty, use care products from Naïf and Sudocrem and give bottle feeding from Nutrilon, Hipp Bio, Biobim and Pure Goat Company. We serve a warm, freshly prepared lunch and healthy snacks. Everything is thought through, because everything around a child has influence. That is our secret.
