Kindergarden Utrecht Terwijde

In the heart of Terwijde, right in Utrecht’s Leidsche Rijn district, you will find Kindergarden Terwijde. We are located in a national monument—one of the oldest farms in the Netherlands—that has stood here since the Middle Ages. The characteristic farmhouse offers a homely environment where children aged 0 to 4 can grow up feeling safe and secure. At Kindergarden Terwijde we work with horizontal groups. This means children are placed with peers in one of our five groups: two baby groups (0–2 years), one infant group (1–3 years), two toddler groups (2–4 years) and an older-toddler group (3+ years) that provides extra preparation for primary school. Each group has its own carefully designed space that matches the children’s developmental stage. We provide learning and play materials tailored to each child, encouraging every little one to take the next step in their development. Our large, green garden is an adventurous place where children can explore, play and move. For the very youngest we have a separate baby garden: a safe, enclosed area where babies can enjoy the fresh air. Older children can dig in the sandpit, race around on carts or hide in the willow tunnel. Every day the toddlers join Friends call me Jim, an interactive movement programme in which we stimulate imagination and motor skills through stories and play. We believe parents should not have to worry about practical matters. That is why nappies, baby wipes and care products from brands such as Pampers, Naty, Naïf and Sudocrem are included. Formula from Nutrilon, Hipp Bio and Biobim, as well as dummies and bottles from MAM, Difrax and Avent, are also provided. Each day we serve a fresh, hot lunch prepared on site and tailored to the child’s age. Once a quarter a children’s hairdresser visits to trim your child’s hair if you wish, making life even easier for parents.
