Kindergarden Breda Princenhage

Welcome to Kindergarden Breda Princenhage! Our after-school care (BSO) is located in the stately former Hotel Bellevue at Liesboslaan 8 in the green heart of Breda-Princenhage. We provide care for up to 20 school-going children aged 4 to 12. With us, children find calm, challenge and plenty of room to discover, play or be creative – both indoors and outdoors in our large, green garden. Together with the children we grow herbs in the vegetable garden; the harvest is used to make mint water or to top our homemade pizzas. We regularly head out into the neighbourhood: a game of football in the nearby park, playtime in the playground or nature discovery walks. During the Princenhage picking route we search for butterflies. When the weather allows, we eat at the big tables outside under the canopy and do lots of crafting. During holiday periods we offer a varied programme. We set up a science corner for simple experiments, build castles from cardboard boxes for the ‘knights and castles’ theme and organise treasure hunts in the woods. Our pedagogical staff also run workshops and activities on site and supervise external outings such as museum visits and sports days. Children are collected from school by BSO bus, cargo bike or on foot – depending on distance. We pick up from primary schools in the immediate area. After school a healthy buffet is ready with raw vegetables, fruit, yoghurt with muesli and whole-grain bread with healthy toppings. We encourage children to start with some raw vegetables and offer water or lukewarm tea to drink. At the end of the day children receive a snack of (dried) fruit or raw vegetables. On study days and school holidays children are welcome from 07:30 to 18:30. We provide a warm, homely atmosphere where every child can be themselves and enjoy both relaxation and challenge.
