Kindergarden Amsterdam Voormalige Stadstimmertuin

Welcome to Kindergarden Amsterdam Voormalige Stadstimmertuin, our daycare centre in the heart of Amsterdam. We are located in the characteristic former Jewish Lyceum at Voormalige Stadstimmertuin 1, a monumental building with a calm, pleasant atmosphere. Right in the city centre we have a beautiful garden with a chestnut tree, sandbox, vegetable patch and a separate, sheltered play area for the very youngest, complete with discovery mirror. This green oasis offers children aged 0 to 4 plenty of space to play, explore and grow. We work in horizontal groups. We have four baby groups for children aged 0 to 2 and four toddler groups for children aged 2 to 4. In addition, we offer a toddler-plus group specially designed for the oldest toddlers to prepare them for primary school. Our pedagogical staff tailor all materials and activities to the children's developmental stages, ensuring that every child receives the right challenge and guidance. Toddlers have access to an extra room where they can do crafts, paint and take part in other creative activities. We use the interactive movement programme ‘Friends call me Jim’. In our gym 2.0, equipped with light projections, a projector and challenging materials, children go on movement adventures. Through magical stories we stimulate their imagination and experience, allowing them to discover the joy of movement in a playful way. Babies are given a predictable daily routine with plenty of variety between rest and activity. We use materials tailored to their developmental needs, including flat surfaces that support motor development. Our aim is to provide each baby with the rest, care and stimulation needed for healthy development. Feel free to drop by to experience the atmosphere and see how we work.
