Kindergarden Amsterdam Herengracht

Kindergarden Amsterdam Herengracht is located in a beautiful, characteristic canal house at Herengracht 244 H in the heart of Amsterdam. This small-scale and homely location accommodates up to 45 children and has been officially registered as a daycare center since January 1, 2010. The building exudes historical charm and features a spacious hall and a kitchen that serves as the cozy heart of the facility. At Kindergarden Herengracht, we work according to the horizontal grouping principle, where children are placed in age groups. This means that babies, toddlers, and preschoolers each stay in their own specially designed group. The baby corners are cozy and clearly arranged with recognizable play areas to limit stimuli. The toddler-plus room is located at the front of the building and offers a beautiful view of the canal, where children can enjoy watching the activity on the street and water. Our sheltered garden is a true experience for the children. The toddler and baby groups overlook a garden with a large magnolia tree where birds sing. We naturally follow the seasons here. For the youngest ones, we have a separate garden section with a sensory board equipped with brushes and mirrors to stimulate fine motor skills. In the sandbox, we bake delicious sand cakes and discover nature with all our senses. Every day, our cooks prepare fresh and healthy meals in our own kitchen. We work with the pedagogical program Wereldwijs, in which we invite children to discover themselves and the world around them. Our pedagogical staff are ready with personal attention and guide each child in their unique development. The location is easily accessible, both on foot and by bicycle, with ample bicycle parking available at the entrance.
