Kinderdagverzorging De Kasteeltuin is an independent non-profit daycare center located in a characteristic 1920s school building at Borgerstraat 8 in Spangen, Rotterdam-West. Established on May 1, 2014, through a unique initiative by parents and staff from the former Beatrix daycare (Rotterdam's oldest crèche), we combine 75 years of experience with fresh, modern childcare approaches. We operate with four horizontal age-based groups: Kuikentjes and Kapoentjes for babies up to 20 months, Kikkertjes and Konijnen for toddlers aged 20-34 months, and Krekeltjes for preschoolers aged 34-48 months. Each group has dedicated, experienced staff working on fixed days to provide consistency and familiarity for the children. Our facility features four spacious, bright group rooms and a large, enclosed castle garden where children play daily. The garden includes our own vegetable and fruit garden, offering children playful experiences with nature and gardening. During bad weather, children can enjoy our large indoor gym. We prioritize security, routine, and daily freshly prepared warm meals using organic and free-range ingredients whenever possible. Our approach centers on creating a safe, familiar environment where children can grow, flourish, play, and explore with joy.
