Welcome to Uk & Puk Daycare located at Spoel 151G in the centre of Emmer-Compascuum. Since our move in July 2014 to the community centre “de Deele” we have provided small-scale, affordable childcare for babies and toddlers aged 8 weeks to 4 years. We are a professional daycare centre where personal attention and a homely atmosphere are paramount. We work with the Uk & Puk development programme, an officially recognised Early Childhood Education curriculum designed for children aged 0 to 4. The programme offers theme-based activities that match the world of experience of young children. Every eight weeks we start a new theme within which we playfully work on social-emotional development, language, motor skills and sensory stimulation. Our pedagogical staff use the KIJK! observation system to carefully monitor each child’s development and tailor our activities accordingly. Babies and toddlers find a calm, safe place with familiar faces that create a sense of security. We use horizontal grouping, with babies and toddlers playing and sleeping in separate age groups. For the youngest we provide bottle feeding on demand, nappy changes and cuddles, and have dedicated sleep rooms. Toddlers are served bread meals and healthy snacks and join age-appropriate outings in the local area. Our spacious garden invites outdoor play and discovery. We believe it is important that children can move and play both indoors and outdoors with natural materials. Parents experience our centre as a second home: a place where you can leave your child with peace of mind and where we communicate openly and personally.
