Welcome to Day-care Centre ’t Schelpje, located at Albert Soncklaan 9 in the heart of Heerhugowaard. For more than ten years we have provided reliable, professional childcare to children from 0 to 4 years of age. Our modern, triangular building is laid out as a warm grid of bright group rooms and includes a large, adventurous nature and experience garden that is specially designed to let children discover nature through play. The garden is rich in hiding places, climbing and clambering objects and offers plenty of space for exploring, balancing, running and cooperating. We work according to a clear pedagogical policy built around four core values: safety, security, development and enjoyment. Our permanent pedagogical staff – such as Beyza, who has been working with us with great pleasure since 2017 – are scheduled on fixed days and in fixed groups whenever possible. This creates calm and continuity for both child and parent. We also use the Gordon method to encourage open communication and follow the Early Childhood Education programme Peuterplein to support the language and cognitive development of our toddlers. A typical day starts between 07:00 and 09:00 with a warm welcome and a communal breakfast. The morning consists of free play, arts-and-crafts activities and story time in our cosy reading corner. Around 12:00 we share a hot, freshly prepared meal that takes allergies and dietary requirements into account. The afternoon offers time for rest and relaxation in our separate sleep rooms; those who wish can enjoy an outdoor nap in the fresh air. The day ends between 16:00 and 19:00 with fruit, a drink and some more playtime in the garden. Parents experience a homely atmosphere, short lines of communication and no waiting list. We regularly organise joint activities – from seasonal celebrations to outings to the library or petting farm – and parents are always warmly invited to join. Together we create a stable, loving environment in which your child can develop to the fullest.
