Kinderdagverblijf 't Boemeltje

Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf ’t Boemeltje, a warm and small-scale daycare centre located at Langvennen-Zuid 127 in Oisterwijk. Since 2000 we have provided care for up to twelve children aged 0 to 4 in one vertical group. Babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers share the same space; there are no separate baby or toddler rooms. This set-up creates a homely atmosphere in which older children proudly help the youngest “little brothers and sisters” and the tiniest ones look up to the bigger children with admiration. Parents often describe the feeling as “one big family”. Our pedagogical staff guide each child personally from the very first day throughout the entire daycare period. You will notice this involvement immediately: there is always time for a chat with parents and room for flexible arrangements whenever possible. We are open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; children may be dropped off between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. and picked up between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. These fixed drop-off and pick-up times keep the group calm and give children the security of a clear daily rhythm. What we offer is simple yet well-considered. Drinks, fruit, raw vegetables and a midday sandwich meal are included. For babies we ask parents to bring their own bottle feeds (formula or breast milk); from eighteen months onward we no longer serve a hot lunch. If a child has a special diet or allergy, we request a clear diet list and the appropriate food so that every child can eat safely and confidently. We keep a notebook for each child up to 18 months with information on sleeping, feeding and emotions; after that, sleep details are displayed on a board in the hallway. ’t Boemeltje works with Early Childhood Education (VVE). This means we stimulate language, numeracy and social skills through play, tailored to each child’s developmental stage. Crafting in the studio, building in the construction corner or simply enjoying outdoor play in our garden: everything revolves around discovery and learning together. We are open 50 weeks a year, closed on national holidays, the second day of Easter, Ascension Day, the second day of Pentecost, 1 January, 27 April, the first two weeks of the summer building holiday and the Monday of carnival. We always inform parents well in advance of the exact closure dates. In short: at ’t Boemeltje every child feels at home. We are proud of our small scale, our commitment and the open atmosphere in which parents and children feel welcome from day one.
