Kinderdagverblijf Pommetje, location De Horsten is situated in the De Horsten district of Apeldoorn, at Glazeniershorst 405. We are a small-scale daycare centre with room for up to 22 children per day. Thanks to our modest size we know every child and every parent personally; lines are short and the atmosphere is homely and warm. We operate on an all-inclusive basis. This means you do not need to bring anything extra: nappies, baby wipes, formula (Kruitvat 1+2), fresh fruit, bread meals, drinks and all care products are included in the childcare. We also respect the rest times of our youngest children; there are separate sleeping rooms where babies and toddlers can sleep in cots or beds. Toddlers nap on stretchers in the same room, so they remain close to the group. Our pedagogical policy focuses on letting children be children. We sing a lot, do crafts, play indoors and outdoors and make time for cuddles and rough-and-tumble. We use an Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme through which we consciously stimulate toddlers’ language, numeracy, social-emotional and motor development. Each child’s progress is tracked with a standardised observation tool; parents receive detailed feedback at least twice a year and more often if needed. De Horsten is located near schools, a shopping centre and a petting farm. This allows us to make regular short trips: visiting the animals, going to a playground or taking a brief walk. The garden surrounding the building offers plenty of space for outdoor play and nature discovery. We work with horizontal groups: babies (0-2) and toddlers (2-4) are in separate rooms so that activities and care can be tailored to age. Our familiar faces provide stability and recognition. One of the owners is regularly on site and is also available outside working hours for urgent questions. We apply the four-eyes principle: there are always two childcare professionals in the group or, if this is not feasible, we use camera supervision for the safety of both child and staff.
