IJsterk Jor & Daan

Daycare centre Jor & Daan is located at Palmdwarsstraat 61 in the heart of Amsterdam and is part of IJsterk Kinderdagverblijven, an Amsterdam-based organisation with ten locations in the city centre. We provide care for up to 68 children aged 0 to 4 years in a vertical group, where babies, toddlers and preschoolers play and learn together. The characteristic building was purpose-built as a daycare centre and offers spacious, bright rooms and a secure outdoor area. Our pedagogical approach is inspired by the ideas of Freinet: we see every child as a unique individual and offer a rich, varied programme of activities that matches each child’s curiosity and developmental stage. Play, discovery, movement and music are central, always in a warm, homely atmosphere. Permanent pedagogical professionals ensure continuity and an emotionally safe climate, allowing children to develop freely. Healthy nutrition, plenty of fresh air and exercise are a matter of course for us. We work with experienced teams who are skilled in caring for babies and toddlers and who collaborate closely with parents. Personal contact is important to us: we listen to your wishes and tailor our care and activities accordingly.
