Kinderdagverblijf Joepie

Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf Joepie, a small-scale, home-from-home daycare centre located at Valkenburgerweg 81c in the South Limburg village of Wijlre. Since 1 April 2011 we have been providing professional childcare for children from 6 weeks to 4 years of age in one vertical group, allowing babies, toddlers and preschoolers to play, learn and grow together. From the moment you step inside you feel our warm atmosphere: a long corridor with individual coat hooks, calm group rooms decorated in warm reds, yellows and oranges, and toys free of flashing lights or loud sounds. We deliberately work with a fixed team of educators who are present on the same days each week; familiar faces create security and give children the feeling they are at home. Our pedagogical vision is built on three key words: meet, discover and develop. We give children the emotional safety they need to take the initiative to meet others and explore the world. Spontaneous and planned activities alternate throughout the day: we do arts and crafts, sing, make music, read aloud, cook and bake together with the children, and spend as much time as possible outside in our large garden with climbing frames, bikes, shaded areas and a playhouse. When the weather is nice we eat outdoors and go outside at least once a day; in summer, both in the morning and in the afternoon. We follow a clear daily rhythm that provides structure: a fixed timetable with healthy snacks, rest periods and free play. For the very youngest we keep logbooks in which parents and staff together record development, feeding and special moments. Parent contact is very important to us: we talk extensively at drop-off and pick-up times and schedule a formal parent meeting at least once a year. Kinderdagverblijf Joepie is a partnership founded and run by Jessica Olischlager and Bianca Velthuis. Jessica is responsible for pedagogical content, mentoring and staff coaching; Bianca takes care of planning, administration and parent liaison. Together we form a close-knit team dedicated to the well-being of every child. We offer both full-day and half-day care, with extra sessions available by arrangement. In short, at Joepie children find a second home: a safe, loving place where they can be themselves and are given the space to grow at their own pace.
