Kinderdagverblijf Hoefsmid

Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf Hoefsmid, the very first location of Kits Oonlie, opened in May 2001. We provide daycare for up to 24 children aged 0 to 4 years in a warm, safe setting at De Hoefsmid 9 in Heiloo. Our site is unique within Kits Oonlie: we are the only branch with two outdoor play areas. The front garden features a play boat and a canopy, so children can enjoy fresh air even in light rain or have a picnic in the shade on sunny days. The back garden offers a large sandpit, lawn and plenty of space for cycling and games. When the weather is really poor, an extra indoor room lets children burn off energy. We use horizontal grouping: a calm baby group where the youngest receive loving care, rest and attention. Even our babies take part in short creative activities, and we display their work so parents can see what their child has done. The toddler group provides more challenge: every month we create a new “Puk corner” around a seasonal theme. The children help paint and build it themselves – for example, a castle for the “giants and gnomes” theme. We also explore the neighbourhood: with our push-cart we visit the deer park, local playground or library. For an “ice” theme we even drop by an ice-cream parlour to watch how ice cream is made. Our open-door policy encourages curiosity: children ready for a new step may discover what happens in the next room, and older siblings are always welcome to join in. In short, Kinderdagverblijf Hoefsmid is a second home where play, development and outdoor life are central.
