Kinderdagverblijf 'Het Tweede Thuis'

Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf Het Tweede Thuis in Franeker, a homely branch of Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland located at Rients Koopmansstraat 1. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 in a vertical group where babies, toddlers and preschoolers play and learn together. Our name says it all: we aim to be a true second home where your child feels safe and secure. Bilingual development is central to our approach. We consciously use both Dutch and Frisian, so that children become familiar with both languages from an early age. In addition, we offer Early Childhood Education (VVE), a stimulation programme that supports children’s language, numeracy and social development and prepares them for primary school in a playful way. Each group has its own regular childcare professionals. We hardly ever use temporary staff, so your child sees the same familiar faces every day and can build a close bond with the carers. We keep parents informed through newsletters, e-mails, Klasbord and notebooks that the children take home, ensuring personal and close communication. We are not yet attached to a specific school, which gives us the freedom to shape our own pedagogical concept. Playing, discovering and marvelling are at the heart of our approach: children are given all the time and space they need to explore and discover the world around them.
