Kinderdagverblijf Het Hummeltje

Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf Het Hummeltje, located in a quiet residential area at Breedweer 2 in Koog aan de Zaan. Since 2005 we have provided day care for children from 8 weeks to 4 years in one homely, vertical group of up to 10 children per day. Thanks to our small scale we can give every baby, toddler and pre-schooler the personal attention they deserve. Our space is carefully laid out: a cosy group room full of challenging toys, a separate sleeping area where children can rest peacefully and a spacious changing room with two child toilets. Inside you will find both high cots and baby toys for the very youngest as well as plenty of space and challenging materials for the toddlers. The outdoor play area offers plenty of opportunities to climb, dig in the sand and discover nature; we go outside every day as long as the weather allows. At Het Hummeltje at least two qualified staff members and one intern work together to provide a safe, warm environment. We follow a fixed daily structure that respects the individual rhythm of the babies and the group activities for the toddlers and pre-schoolers. Eating together, tidying up, making agreements and of course playing are central. In this way the children learn social and preparatory skills in a playful manner, ensuring a smooth transition to primary school.
