Welcome to De Kinderkamer Daycare at Achterweg 35 in Herwijnen. We are located inside the village’s Brede School, a familiar place where children aged 0 to 4 can grow in safety and confidence. Because our centre is part of the school building, our toddlers already know the corridors and faces when they move on to primary school, making the transition smooth and worry-free. We run a vertical group: babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers share one room with the same dedicated pedagogical staff. This creates calm and recognition—children stay with familiar faces for a longer period and siblings can play together. Younger children look up to the older ones, while the older children learn to help and take responsibility. They grow towards each other and learn from one another. Play is our main learning tool. We follow the recognised Early Childhood Education programme ‘Verrijken met Kiki’, focusing on language, numeracy, motor skills and social-emotional development. Children with an ECE indication attend four set half-days a week, while parents actively join in through VE conversations. Together we set goals and track each child’s progress step by step. We also make regular outings in the neighbourhood—to the playground, the library or the local shop—always close to home so that children discover the world around them. Our space is furnished like a home and arranged for easy overview. Separate sleeping rooms are available for the very youngest, and there is a safe outdoor area for sand, water and natural-material play. We keep group sizes small so every child receives the personal attention they deserve.
