Welcome to daycare De Dotterbloem in Zaandam! We are a Freekids location offering childcare for children aged 0 to 4. Our name refers to the Dotterbloem, a typical flower from the Zaan region, and this local identity is reflected in our warm, homely atmosphere. De Dotterbloem has six base groups, including separate baby and toddler groups. Each group has its own sleeping room and sanitary facilities. We use a horizontal group structure, caring for children in age-based groups. This provides calm, familiarity and a secure foundation for development. Our pedagogical approach is based on Emmi Pikler’s principles. We offer attentive care, free play and development-focused activities. We work with consistent caregivers: each group has fixed pedagogical staff who know your child well. Every child is also assigned a mentor, your consistent point of contact. We stimulate language development through the Boekstart programme and daily reading moments. Outside, we have a safe, challenging playground with natural materials. We spend a lot of time outdoors and organise movement activities tailored to your child’s age. Practically, we are open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:30. We offer full days (11.5 hours) or half-day care. All necessary care products such as nappies, wipes and bottle feeding are included. Fruit and drinks are also provided. We accommodate allergies and dietary requirements. Communication runs via Kindplanner, our digital parent portal. You receive daily messages with photos of special moments. We work closely with parents and have an active parent committee. De Dotterbloem is temporarily housed in a brand-new building at Cello 1. We look forward to welcoming you!
