Kinderdagverblijf De Amstel

Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf De Amstel, part of Stichting Swaan. We are located at Welnastraat 843 in the heart of the Amstelkwartier in Amsterdam. In our cozy daycare center, we provide care for up to 40 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided into three horizontal age groups: babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. We follow the Montessori vision, placing the child at the center and connecting with their natural curiosity and need for independence. Our sustainable play materials are placed at child height, allowing children to choose and discover on their own. We believe in small groups where everyone knows each other by name. Reading aloud, singing songs, cooking, and tidying up playfully are part of our daily activities. Outside, we have a nature garden where children can climb, explore, and release their energy. For the youngest ones, there is a safe baby garden. We offer preschool education (VE) for toddlers aged 2½ to 4 years to stimulate their language development and prepare them well for primary school. Our dedicated pedagogical staff are ready with endless patience and a good dose of creativity. We value good contact with parents and work closely with Montessorischool De Amstel and the after-school care in the same building.
