Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf Boerenmaatjes, located at Torenweg 24 in the heart of Odoorn. We are a genuine farm-based daycare where children aged 0 to 4 grow up among dairy cows and calves. Our location is part of an active dairy farm, allowing your child to see and experience the farm, tractors and animals daily. We provide care for up to 16 children in a green, natural environment with plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. Our vision is based on the green pedagogy of the United Agricultural Childcare (VAK). Respect, space, peace and regularity are the pillars of our daily practice. Children are free to choose their own activities and discover the world at their own pace. We believe children need space to develop themselves and learn through new experiences and lots of play. Our fully enclosed outdoor play area borders a vegetable garden where we plant, watch grow and harvest vegetables like cucumbers, zucchini, carrots and strawberries together. We regularly take walks to the barn and pasture to see the cows or feed the chickens and collect eggs. As a VAK-affiliated location, we follow their quality system that stands for qualitative and high-quality childcare. We contribute to healthy, natural upbringing where children learn respect for each other, their environment and nature. Every child is welcome to be completely themselves in a safe, familiar environment where farm and childcare come together.
