Welcome to Wolkewietje, a warm and small-scale daycare centre located at Noorddammerweg 53 in Amstelveen. Since 1996, we have been providing loving and attentive care for children aged 2 to 4. Our vision is clear: childcare is a matter of trust. You entrust your child to our qualified pedagogical staff, allowing you to combine work and care with peace of mind. Our half-day programme is designed to let children explore and develop through play. We work with fixed staff members who are present every morning and provide a familiar and secure base. Laura, Khadija, Jessica and Sabrina are ready every day to offer your child a safe and stimulating environment. We encourage children to investigate on their own, be creative, and learn to play and share together. Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy: every child has many talents and possibilities. By observing, offering natural materials, and letting children learn from each other, we discover and nurture these talents. A typical morning at Wolkewietje starts between 08:00 and 09:00 with drop-off. After that, children have free play until 09:30. We then gather in a circle for stories and a small treat, followed by joint activities such as crafting, colouring or outdoor play. In between, we enjoy fruit and sing songs. We believe it is important that children learn to find their own solutions and understand that taking toys from others or hitting is unnecessary. The morning ends at 13:30. We offer a homely atmosphere where children quickly feel at home. Our location has a garden where children can play outside when the weather is nice.
