Kindercentrum Mallemolen

Kindercentrum Mallemolen is located in the heart of Beijum, Groningen, inside the characteristic ‘Boerderijum’ farmhouse at Beijumerweg 19b. Founded in 2000 and permanently housed here since 2009, we have grown into a mature organisation with three groups for up to 70 children. Our day-care section offers 32 places for children aged 0–4, divided into two vertical groups where children of different ages play and learn together. Each child is welcomed into a homely environment that values personal attention, safety and development. We operate with an open-door policy: children are free to choose where and with whom they play. This approach fosters social skills and allows every child to develop at their own pace. Each child is assigned a fixed mentor—a familiar face and consistent point of contact for both child and parent. Our team of pedagogical professionals is stable and close-knit; even our relief staff are on the payroll, ensuring your child always sees familiar faces. Our philosophy rests on three pillars: diversity, safety and development. Every child is unique and is encouraged to be themselves. We follow children’s interests and curiosity, using the Uk & Puk method to introduce new skills through play. We see ourselves as co-educators and value transparent communication with parents. Our natural outdoor play areas provide a rich learning environment where children explore seasons, plants and animals, developing a playful connection to nature and the Beijum community. Kindercentrum Mallemolen is open 52 weeks a year from 07:00 to 18:00. Annual events such as reading days, parent days and the popular Mud Day—when children are encouraged to get wonderfully dirty—create unforgettable experiences.
