Welcome to Kindercentrum Huize Zeldenrust, located at Venrayseweg 19 in Horst. For 27 years, we have been providing flexible childcare for children aged 0 to 4 in a homely and safe environment. Our main site has five day-care groups: two baby groups (max. 12 children), a toddler group (max. 11 children), a preschool-VVE group (max. 8 children) and a pre-school group (max. 15 children). We use horizontal grouping so that children can progress at their own pace and our pedagogical staff can meet each child’s developmental needs. Nature is central at Huize Zeldenrust. Our large green outdoor area offers plenty of opportunities to play and explore. There are vegetable gardens, fruit trees and even a small animal meadow with chickens, goats and rabbits. These animals and the garden are part of our daily activities: children learn about nature, caring for animals and growing fruit and vegetables in a playful way. In summer we use our own paddling pool to cool off – always with parental permission. We provide a healthy and stimulating environment where personal contact and a homely atmosphere are paramount. Our healthy childcare means we provide balanced meals, healthy snacks and plenty of opportunities for exercise. We encourage risky play, allowing children to explore their boundaries safely. Indoors and outdoors, children have plenty of space to discover, experiment and experience. We believe that children learn and develop best through play. Our centre is open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:30. We offer flexible, tailor-made childcare with fixed staff per group. Swapping days is possible and we use a homely approach where personal contact with parents is very important. Some staff are trained in the VVE programme Startblokken, so we can also provide optimal pre-school education.
