Kindercentrum het Kievitsnest

Welcome to Kindercentrum het Kievitsnest, a welcoming daycare centre run by Kinderopvang Wageningen, located at Kievitsweide 26 in Wageningen. Housed in a former school building, our centre offers spacious indoor areas across two floors and a large green discovery garden. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in three groups: a vertical group (0-4 years), a horizontal baby group (0-2 years) and a toddler group (2-4 years). Each group has its own familiar space with direct access to the garden. Our approach is all about learning through play. Babies explore the world around them in peace, while toddlers can express themselves in various themed corners. We work with fixed pedagogical staff who know every child well. Every day we sing together in a circle, read aloud and offer both free play and structured activities. We regularly go on trips: visiting the elderly at Zorgvilla Lawet, searching for gnomes in the Arboretum or enjoying mud days. Our toddler group Kwikstaartjes follows the Early Childhood Education programme ‘Startblokken’. Through targeted activities we stimulate language, numeracy and social skills so children are well prepared for primary school. In our large garden children can build sandcastles, cycle, look for frogs or help in the vegetable patch. We offer parents the option of letting their child sleep outside; many children sleep more calmly and deeply in the fresh air. We believe in close cooperation between home and daycare. Therefore we communicate openly with parents and are always open to ideas. Together we create a familiar environment in which every child can develop optimally.
