Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of IKC Zuiderenk, located at Drijberseweg 2 in the heart of Wijster. As part of Kits Primair, we provide care for children aged 4 to 12. Our BSO is housed within an integral child centre, allowing children to move seamlessly from school to a familiar environment after classes. We believe every child has unique talents. Our pedagogical staff offer a warm and safe place where children can develop through play and discovery. We maintain an open-door policy, enabling children to move freely between different spaces and choose activities that match their interests. Our activity programme is diverse and engaging. We have theme boxes with materials for arts and crafts and construction play, a reading corner with books, and an outdoor area where children can run around and play sports. We regularly organise excursions to the natural surroundings of Wijster. During school holidays, we offer holiday care with extra challenging activities such as sports and game days. We find it important that children learn to deal with freedom and responsibility. Our group rules are clear: we show respect for each other and our environment. We work with positive behaviour reinforcement (PBS) and pay much attention to social skills. There is always room for individual attention, for example during reading time or playing a game. Parents are actively involved in the care. We communicate through a group folder and there is a parent committee that helps think about policy. Our BSO is open from 7:30 to 17:30 on weekdays. During school holidays, you can use holiday care from 7:30 to 18:00. We work together with primary school De Zuiderenk, ensuring a smooth transition from school to BSO.
