Kindercentrum de Scheg / BSO

BSO de Scheg is part of Solidoe and located in the brand-new multifunctional centre MFA De Scheg in the Zijdelwaard district, directly opposite primary school ’t Startnest. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13, divided into three horizontal groups: the Kornuiten (4-8 years), Kornuiten+ (4-8 years on Tuesdays and Thursdays) and the Bondgenoten (8-13 years). Each group has its own team of regular pedagogical staff and every child is assigned a mentor who is the fixed point of contact and conducts annual well-being conversations. Our rooms are bright, spacious and largely built of wood, giving a warm appearance. A play corridor with a climbing wall, slide and climbing nets connects all groups and invites movement and discovery. For sports activities we use the on-site sports hall located in the same building. We also share a living-room kitchen where we regularly organise cooking and baking activities. We collect children after school from primary schools Vuurvogel and ’t Startnest. Together we eat fruit and have a drink, after which children can choose from various activities or free play. During school holidays and study days we create a varied programme together with the children, including workshops such as a technology club, yoga or an art studio. Child participation is highly valued: children are encouraged to contribute ideas and help decide on the activity programme and house rules. BSO de Scheg is open 52 weeks a year from 7.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. We work from the vision ‘Everyone has room for their own growth’ and create a safe, challenging environment in which children can develop in their own way and at their own pace.
