Kindercentrum De Boefjes

Kindercentrum De Boefjes is located at Govert Flinckstraat 198 H in the heart of Amsterdam’s De Pijp district. For more than twenty years we have provided small-scale, homely day-care for children aged 0 to 4 within a single vertical group of no more than ten children. Our close-knit team of experienced teachers – Monique, Steluta and Halima – offers every child the personal attention and care they deserve. Everything we do revolves around creating a warm, familiar and safe environment, just like home. By working in a vertical group, children of different ages play and learn together. The spacious indoor area is divided into themed corners: a home corner, construction corner, arts & crafts corner and a quiet reading nook. Each child can explore the world at their own pace. Children use a choice board to indicate which corner they want to play in, a method that dovetails perfectly with primary school routines. Language and speech development receive extra attention through the Uk en Puk programme. We sing, dance, make music and craft together. When the weather is nice we play in our own garden or go on outings to the playground or petting farm. Every afternoon we serve a fresh, organic hot lunch and healthy snacks. Special dietary needs are discussed individually. Because we are small and manageable, we truly know every child. We keep a daily notebook for the youngest ones, schedule parent meetings at 18, 30 and 46 months and are always available for a chat.
