KDV Berend Botje Edam-Volendam is located on the ground floor of the modern childcare centre at Keetzijde 18a in Edam. We provide daycare for up to 92 children aged 0 to 4 years. The location has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 178395481 since 2 January 2010 and is part of the nationwide Berend Botje Childcare organisation. Our spacious, bright group rooms are specially designed for the youngest children. Each age group has its own sleeping room with cots and cribs, so your child can sleep in peace and quiet. Large windows provide plenty of natural light and an open, homely atmosphere. Outside we have a safe, fully enclosed playground with a soft surface, shady spots and challenging play equipment that matches the developmental stage of babies and toddlers. Our pedagogical team consists of qualified childcare workers who receive continuous training in the latest insights into the development of young children. We follow the VVE programme ‘Startblokken’ to stimulate your child’s language and cognitive development. Daily activities include toddler gym, making music with simple instruments, reading aloud in our cosy book corner and creative activities with various materials. There is also plenty of room for free play, because play is learning. For the very youngest we have a separate baby group with quiet sleeping areas and a private outdoor terrace. Here babies can safely lie outside in the fresh air. We maintain a fixed daily routine with fixed care moments, so that your child experiences rest and regularity. Nappy changing, bottle feeding and teaching a good sleep routine are all taken care of. Parents receive a daily report via our parent app, so you know exactly how your child’s day went. We believe it is important that your child feels safe and secure. That is why we work with familiar faces and small groups. Our location is equipped with an electronic access system and cameras in the common areas. We also offer flexible childcare options, from half days to full weeks, so that our childcare fits in with your working hours. Together with you, we ensure that your child comes to Berend Botje with a smile and goes home with an even bigger one.
