KDV Groningen de Honingboom

KDV De Honingboom is a daycare centre for children aged 0 to 4 years and is part of Kids First childcare. We are located within primary school ‘de Beijumkorf’, site ‘de Zwerm’, in the Beijum district of Groningen. Our site features a beautiful, large outdoor area with a spacious sandbox and a chestnut tree that provides plenty of shade. Inside, a bright and playful space has been designed for hours of fun. At De Honingboom we work every day with great enthusiasm on the development of the children. We offer a VE (early childhood education) programme and use themes that connect with the world of young children. Arts and crafts are central to our activities, using creative materials and techniques that match the weekly theme. We believe movement is very important: we regularly go outside, take walks around the neighbourhood and play in our own garden. When the weather is poor we are fortunate to use the school gym for running, climbing and playing. Our ‘Tasty Vegetable Gardens’ programme is also a fixed part of our offering. Children learn in a playful way about vegetables, fruit and healthy eating. They help with sowing, caring for and harvesting the crops, discovering where food comes from. This not only stimulates their curiosity but also their respect for nature. Our team of pedagogical staff is ready every day to offer your child loving attention and a sense of security.
