Kindercentrum Avonturen Tuin

Kindercentrum Avonturen Tuin is a small-scale after-school care (BSO) located in the heart of Deinum, at Spoorstrjitte 7B, right next to primary school SWS Twaspan. We provide anthroposophical childcare with a strong focus on the individual approach to each child. Our BSO accommodates a maximum of 33 children aged 4 to 12. Everything we do revolves around familiarity and personal attention. Children are picked up from school every day and welcomed into their regular group. We share a drink and some fruit together, giving children space to tell about their day. Afterwards, they can choose an activity or engage in free play. Our pedagogical vision is based on anthroposophical principles. We work with permanent staff who know the children well and provide a familiar foundation. The groups are small, allowing for plenty of personal attention. We believe in the importance of imaginative play with natural materials. Our spaces are furnished with wooden toys that challenge children to decide for themselves what they are and what you can do with them. We find it important that children learn to live together. Not 'every man for himself', but taking each other into account. Children learn to wait until someone else is finished with a toy, help each other set the table or share fruit. Our staff guide this process with patience and kindness. During school holidays, children spend the whole day with us. We then organize extra activities and sometimes make trips to, for example, the forest or the playground. Even then, the personal approach is paramount: each child is given the space to develop in his or her own way. Feel free to come by for a tour and experience the homely atmosphere of our BSO.
