BSO Oculus

BSO Oculus is part of Kindercampus Oculus, a welcoming and personal child campus located in the lively Loven-Besterd district, just a stone’s throw from Tilburg’s city centre. We are housed in one of two beautiful, characterful buildings at Bankastraat 2. The after-school care shares this building with the upper grades of primary school Oculus (years 4–8). Thanks to the central location and the direct link through St. Willebrordplein, children can reach us quickly and safely after school. For many years – we are one of Tilburg’s oldest and most experienced after-school care locations – our qualified pedagogical staff welcome the children with open arms. We offer a homely, safe atmosphere in which every child can tell us about the school day. Afterwards everyone receives fruit and a drink and may then choose what to do. Free time is their time. We encourage children to make their own choices: play outside, chill out, join an activity or simply enjoy some quiet time on their own. We draw up the activity schedule together with the children. Within the campus we make use of each other’s facilities, creating a huge variety of activities. In our cosy living kitchen we cook and bake together, after which we naturally enjoy our freshly made treats as a group. In the gym we play sports or dance, on the stage in the auditorium we rehearse little plays, and outside we explore the natural play and learning environment. We have a green garden full of shrubs, winding paths and hiding places, a barefoot path with different textures, climbing equipment and a flat area for ball games. For the older children (from 7 years) we also use the recently renovated, vibrant St. Willebrordplein, giving them even more space to play and move. During school holidays we offer a varied holiday programme with fun excursions; transport and entrance fees are on us. Parents rate our approach an average of 8.2. Our door is always open for a chat, because together with parents we ensure that every child feels seen and valued.
